Completely strip the chaise frame and disassemble all parts. Be sure to save all hardware as it will be necessary for the installation of the new sling. An additional set of hands to help during the installation is recommended.

Install the two chaise back rails into the new sling, exposing the bolts through the slots on the new sling.

The special hook tool is supplied with all homecrest replacement sling orders. Its function is to pry the two sling rails apart and keep them separated so you can fit the chaise back spreader bar onto the threaded bolts that are welded to the metal sling rail bars.

The chaise back spreader bar has 2 size holes. The hook tool will only fit through the bigger hole. Place the smaller hole of the chaise back spreader bar onto the exposed thread on one side of the sling. Install a washer and nut on the thread and finger tighten. Place the hook tool through the larger hole on the other side of the chaise back spreader bar. Next fit the end of the hook tool onto the opposite exposed thread. Pry the rails apart and push down on the chaise back spreader bar until it slides over the threads. A rubber mallet may be necessary to plant the spreader in place. Twist the hook tool to disengage if from the stud.

Before installing the sway bar, we recommend drilling out the two holes on either side of the sway bar using a 27/64" drill bit. This allows the hook tool to be inserted into the holes on the end of the sway bar and is necessary for installation.

Position one end of the sway bar onto a set of the exposed threads and finger tighten with existing hardware. Insert the hook tool into one of the holes on the sway bar and onto an exposed stud. Spread the rails apart using the same technique used in step 3. Work with both holes on the sway bar until the rails are spread just enough to slip both holes of the sway bar over the pair of exposed threads. Twist the hook tool to disengage it from the stud. Finger-tighten with existing hardware when in place.

Slip the bottom half of the chaise rails into the sling. Spraying watered down dish soap on the rails will help it slip into the sling a little easier.

Attach the top and bottom chaise rails together using the two bolts that were removed previously. Be sure that the chaise back rails are bolted to the OUTSIDE of the bottom rails. Be sure to insert spacers or washers in between the two sets of rails.

There are three spreader bars that are attached to the bottom half of the chaise frame. The aluminum spreader tool must be used to install the remaining spreader bars. Attach one end of all the spreader bars to the chaise bottom, using the existing screws. Tighten the screw about half way. If needed, use a metal pick to find the hole in the frame and puncture through the fabric.

There is a slit in between a pair of spreader bars in the middle of the frame. Insert the aluminum spreader tool into the slit in the fabric. Apply downward pressure to the handle. Spread the rails just enough to allow room for the screw to be inserted into the hole in the frame. Use this technique to install both spreader bars near the slit.

The last spreader bar is attached near the top of the chaise back frame. Place the aluminum spreader tool on the frame, as close as possible to the screw hole. When in position, spread the rails and attach the final screw to the final spreader bar. Once all spreader bars have been attached, tighten all screws and nuts along the chaise rails.

Re-attach the adjustment brackets to the sling frame using four screws. Insert the adjustment hardware into the slots in the brackets so that all the bushings and hardware are in place and the threads are sticking out the bottom of the adjustment brackets.

Lay the chaise basket onto the chaise frame. Insert the threads of the adjustment hardware through the hole in the chaise frame. Attach the adjustment knob to the underside of the chaise and tighten.
