How much water should I put in My Mosquito Deleter?

Fill My Mosquito Deleter so that the water level is within 1/2” of the top of the trap or to the rough part of the black cone. This will leave room for air which the larvae look for.

How many water conditioning tablets are needed for My Mosquito Deleter?

Each trap requires two (2) water conditioning tablets when you initially start the process and put your traps out for the first time. Each month add one (1) additional tablet for maximum effectiveness. Each My Mosquito Deleter kit includes four (4) traps so you will need four (4) tablets per month. A My Mosquito Deleter kit comes with a two (2) month supply of tablets. Our promotional offers include one month (1) additional supply of tablets – this may vary with the promotion. You can always purchase additional tablets at the store. Just go here for a year’s supply of tablets or here for 1 month’s supply of tablets.

What do I need to do to maintain My Mosquito Deleter?

Minimal maintenance is required. Periodically, (if possible every 7-10 days) you should check the water level of the traps and refill as required to keep the level to around one-half inch from the top of the trap. Each month add one (1) water conditioning tablet to each trap. Finally, you should avoid cleaning the traps as long as possible. Unfortunately , the dirtier the water, the better for her to drop her eggs. If you need to clean them, then clean them once or twice a season.

How far apart should I space My Mosquito Delter on my property?

The My Mosquito Deleter traps should be spaced so that they are no farther than 150 feet apart from each other. Ideally the four (4) units could be placed so that each trap is located on the four corners of a square pattern and that the distance between each unit on opposite corners of the square are less than or equal to 150 feet apart, or you can place the traps in areas where you will spend most of your time in, for example; three (3) traps in your back yard or all traps in your back yard, or all the traps in your front yard. It's totally up to you on where you think the best place is to place them.

What prevents the new mosquitoes from exiting up through the same holes that the eggs dropped down?

Once the eggs hatch they submerge themselves in water and start eating. Once they start eating the larvae needs oxygen to continue their life cycle so they head directly for light. The trap lid is black, the baffle ring is white, and the side walls are clear. This is the combination that creates a luring pathway for the larvae to follow up through the baffle ring where they are satisfied to stay with light and oxygen above the water line. There they hatch and are trapped with no way to return to bite you!
