Your new replacement cushion must fit in between the arms of the wrought iron chair or chaise lounge frame. This is the maximum width for your new replacement outdoor cushion. Choose the width that works best for your chair frame.

To determine the seat depth of your new replacement cushion, measure from the front edge of the patio chair or chaise to the back. You may or may not have a well defined point where the cushion should end. This is especially so on a wrought iron chair that has a curved mesh seat. Most wrought iron chaises will have an adjustable back that can go up and down. So the pivot point or hinge placement is easily defined. Do your best to find the center of the curved area of the chair frame. If you would like you new replacement cushion to extend further over the front edge, then adjust your measurement accordingly and add an inch or two to the seat depth. For wrought iron mesh chaise lounges that have a curved front (near your feet), just determine where you would like the cushion to end and adjust your measurements accordingly.

The next step is to determine how tall or the height of the back of the cushion on your wrought iron chair or chaise lounge. Measuring a wrought iron chair with a curved seat can be a bit confusing. The curved section makes it hard to define the pivot or hinge area of the cushion. Place your measuring tape at the top of the chair frame. Choose the point where you would like your new patio cushion to start. Measure down the frame to the center of the curve determined in the previous step. If you want your new replacement cushion to extend above the top of the wrought iron chair frame, please adjust your measurements accordingly and add to the cushion back height dimension as needed.
If you are measuring for a wrought iron mesh chaise lounge, you can easily find the pivot point or hinge area. Place your measuring tape at the hinge point and measure to the top of the back. If you want the cushion to extend above the chaise lounge frame, adjust your measurements accordingly.
